Biography
Lives and works in Tunis
French Tunisian artist, born in Paris, he discovered graffiti in 1991, while leafing through “Spraycan art”.
He had his first solo exhibition in 1999 at the Triiad store in Paris.
He paints regularly, and it was in 2003 that his work took on a new lease of life with the meeting of Nilko, who would become his partner for many years. After having multiplied exhibitions and artistic collaborations in France (2003-2009),
Jaye settled in Tunis in 2012 and began a new phase in his work. He quickly understands that he will lack adequate equipment and decides to experiment with new media. His meeting with the sculptor artist Nouthayel Belkadhi gave birth to a new artistic direction, metal tags. This was the beginning of the concept that he would later call : “Aerosolid”.
Sculptures on which he transposes the spirit of the street, and confronts his aesthetics with that of three-dimensionality.
He manages to develop a technique and manages to find his style. His new approach has met with great success from the public and artistic institutions such as the Mucem which will include two of his sculptures in its collection in 2016.
